Amtrak Project
Overview of the Project
A $6.28 million grant to the Capital Area Transportation Authority, is  being used to rebuild the East Lansing Amtrak Station, which will serve as a multimodal transportation gateway to Michigan's capital city region.

Funding will be used for the Capital Area Multi-modal Gateway Project, a $10.48 million project with local matches from MSU, via a long-term land lease of the property valued at $3.2 million, and $500,000 from both the Michigan Department of Transportation and Amtrak.

The nine-acre parcel is located at the intersection of two rail lines, adjacent to US 127 and on the edge of Michigan State University's campus centrally located within the Lansing/East Lansing MSA.

The station is now open and the construction is near completion.
