Off The Beaten Path

Getting Started
Off the Beaten Path

When And Where To Look
If you are moving in at the start of the academic year, try to have a lease signed before March. After March, options become scarce. This is especially important if you need to live near campus or want to live with a particular group of people.

For summer rental only, expect greatly reduced rates and many options. Late spring is a good time to shop around because subleasing rates tend to decrease dramatically. When subleasing, be sure that it is allowable by your lease and that a new lease has been executed with the landlord.

Residence Halls Association
If you are not quite ready to make the move off-campus, you always have the alternative to live on-campus in one of the twenty-two residence halls. They offer a one-time price per semester that includes room and board, heat, telephone, and cable. There is also a room-only option in Williams Hall. If you are interested in this alternative or have more questions regarding the residence halls, call Housing Services at 355-9550.
