What is Active Living For Adults
What: ALFA is an adult day services program. It was established in 1983 and is now sponsored by The City of East Lansing and is assisted by an advisory board of caring citizens. It primarily serves residents of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties.
ALFA strives to meet the needs of functionally impaired adults through individualized care plans. They are usually structured, comprehensive programs that vary from day to day. ALFA's goal is to keep family members and friends in their own communities for as long as possible. To accomplish this vision there are two goals:
1. To provide respite (time off) and informational support for caregivers.
2. To provide an engaging day service program for functionally impaired adults which will promote the enhancement and/or maintenance of physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills in a protective setting.
