Rules & Regulations
To ensure the safety of our patrons and avoid damage to the facility, all guests
& staff shall observe the following rules. [

Admission Regulations
Daily users must pay the appropriate admission fee.
An adult (eighteen years and older) must accompany youth under the age of 12, within
the Family Aquatic Center.
Infants and toddlers under the age of 2 will be admitted free with a paying adult.
General Rules
No person shall be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while in the facility.
Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited within the facility.
Smoking and use of smokeless tobacco is only permitted outside the facility.
Glass containers are not permitted.
Animals of any kind are not permitted in the facility, except for working dogs.
Abusive or inappropriate language will not be permitted at any time.
NO RUNNING or ROUGH PLAY.
Radios must be restricted to personal sound devices with headphones.
The Parks & Recreation Facilities Department is not responsible for personal
property.
Please secure items left in a locker with a lock. Items found on deck will be left
at the office in the "lost and found."
Guests with special needs are welcome; staff is pleased to provide assistance when
requested.
All aquatic personnel are responsible for the enforcement of all Michigan Department
of Health "Public Swimming Pool Rules."
All infants must be changed in the restrooms and diapers must be disposed of in
the proper containers.
The Parks & Recreation Facilities Department reserves the right to limit admissions
due to safety considerations.
Admission to the pool may be refused to any person having a contagious, infectious
condition or communicable disease; including open blisters, cuts, sores, wounds,
etc. These guests will not be allowed in the pool.
Every effort will be made to accommodate large groups. Reservations are strongly

No skateboards, rollerblades/skates, or bikes are allowed inside of the Family Aquatic
Center.
The public address system is for official use only. There will be absolutely no
personal paging.
Please direct any problems, concerns, or questions to the Manager in charge.
Pool Rules
Only proper swim attire will be permitted in the pool and activities. No jean shorts,
under garments, t-shirts or cut-offs will be allowed due to health code violation.
Rubber or plastic pants with elastic at the legs and waist must be worn over all
diapers, with the exception of swim diapers.
Showers are required before entering a pool or activity.
Guests are responsible for providing their
own towels.
Spitting, spouting water, blowing of the nose or discharging bodily waste in the
pool is strictly prohibited.
Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices are permitted in the pool. The
Family Aquatic Center has a limited number of approved flotation devices. Flotation
equipment may be used in designated areas only.
No Swimmies, Water Wings, Floaties, rafts, body boards, or inflatables are permitted
in the pool.
No snorkeling or SCUBA equipment is allowed, including masks with a nose piece.
Guests may use goggles.
Diving is ONLY permitted off the diving board.
Flipping, throwing, sitting on the shoulders, piggyback rides, and other unsafe
activities are not permitted.
Holding, standing or hanging on the pool lane lines, ladders, and rope is prohibited.
Use only the designated pool entrance/exit.
Height restrictions are noted at each activity.
No food, gum or drinks are permitted on pool deck or in pool area.
Lifeguards have the right to stop any play which they deem dangerous.
Guest must obey lifeguards instructions at all times. Please direct any problems,
concerns, or questions to the staff in charge.
Slide Rules
Arms and hands must be inside the slide at all times.
All persons must be OVER 48 inches tall to ride the slide. All persons using the FROG
slide must be UNDER 48 inches tall. See Features.
ONLY slide in a sitting position with feet forward or on the back.
No diving from the end of slide.
Do not attempt to stop on the slide.
WARNING: Plunge area for Drop Slide is 12'6" deep.
Plunge pool must be clear of all swimmers when slides are in use. Leave plunge area
immediately after using the slide. Swimmers may not catch slide users.
Use designated ladder to exit the plunge area.
Non-swimmers are not permitted.
Skipping in line and rowdy play are prohibited.
Life jackets or other floatation devices are prohibited.
Dress Code: proper swim attire is required. No metal objects, locker keys, jewelry,
goggles, metal snaps, watches, etc. are permitted on slide. These objects can damage
equipment.
Stopping, changing position, and forming "chains" are prohibited.
Lifeguards have the authority to restrict use due to safety concerns. Obey lifeguard
instructions at all time. They are here to insure your safety.
Tube slide: Riders must stay on their tubes at all times. Going down the slide backwards
is prohibited. The depth of the plunge pool is 3'6".'
Restrooms/Locker Rooms
Eating, drinking or smoking will not be permitted in these areas.
Loitering is prohibited.
Lockers may be used on a single visit basis only.
Guests using the facility must shower and enter the pool through the provided entrance
through the showers.
Guests may not occupy a locker over night.
The Family Aquatic Center and its staff are not responsible for any items which
are lost, damaged, stolen, and left in the lockers or pool area.
Family Changing Rooms
Guest may use these rooms to change and shower on a single use basis. No guest shall
keep belongings in the family changing rooms.
* The Family Aquatic Center staff reserve the right to restrict any activity and/or
use of equipment that may be deemed as dangerous. The staff also reserves the right
to restrict use to any person who is misusing or disrupting said activity or equipment.
