Adult Softball Leagues
East Lansing Parks, Recreation & Arts offers a variety of slow pitch softball leagues for all levels of competitive play. The regulation leagues, which include certified umpires, provide a more competitive and structured program in accordance with ASA rules and regulations while maintaining the recreational quality of the program. At either level of play certain guidelines are in place to ensure the leagues are fair and enjoyable for all participants. The following information will explain these guidelines in greater detail.

There is a NO TOLERANCE approach being taking towards the NO ALCOHOL policy. There is NO alcohol allowed in the complex, including the parking lot, at any time. There will be regular police patrols of the complex and tickets will be issued! Please inform all your players and spectators.
The City of East Lansing curfew after Labor Day: All participants must be vacated from the premises by 10 p.m.
Returning Teams
Teams that participated in East Lansing in 2006 (and did not forfeit more than one game) are considered returning teams for 2007. Returning teams have a reserved spot in the program provided that all registration processes are followed prior to the deadline dates. RETURNING TEAMS WHICH DO NOT COMPLY WITH DEADLINE DATES WILL LOSE THEIR RETURNING TEAM STATUS AND MAY LOSE THEIR SPOT IN THE PROGRAM.

Registration/Payment
To register a team the sponsor fee only is due by NO LATER THAN 5 pm on AUGUST 3, 2007. As always, fees will be accepted prior to the deadline date. New teams are encouraged to submit team sponsor fees as soon as possible.
Player Fees/Player Contract Forms
Each player on your team must have a contract form and player fee paid prior to your first scheduled game. Contract cards are available at the Recreation Office or on the City web site at www.cityofeastlansing.com.
Methods of Payment
ELPRA accepts cash, checks, and most major credit cards. The completed team registration form must accompany payment. You may fax the team registration form to our office by using VISA, MASTERCARD, or DISCOVER ONLY. Fax forms to (517) 333-2995. Please include credit card number and the expiration date on the form. Player fees ARE NOT due at the time of registration.
Make-up Game Policy
All leagues will conduct make-up games primarily on Thursday evenings. It may be possible that some games be played on the weekends if there is an inordinate amount of postponed games. ELPRA reserves the right to schedule all make-up games.
Rules
Rules for the ELPRA softball leagues vary depending on the league that your team enters. In all leagues Amateur Softball Association (ASA) rules will be followed with some local variations. The East Lansing Recreation adult softball program is also a member of MASA District 11 and observes rules set forth by this group. Rules and regulations will be distributed to all team managers at the mandatory meetings.
