Refuse, Yard Waste & Recycling Collection
Mayor's Climate Protection Agreement
During holidays, the City strives to collect refuse and recycling as close to your regular collection day as possible. In most cases, when a holiday occurs during the week, only those whose collection day falls on the holiday are affected. In these cases, our crews double up on the day following a holiday or in the case when a holiday occurs on a Friday, collection occurs on the following Monday. In some cases, we collect on the holiday (i.e. Veterans Day and the day after Thanksgiving).
No-fee Holiday Refuse Collection - Dec. 18, 2007 - Dec. 28, 2007
To accommodate additional refuse generated around the Christmas holiday, the DPW
allows residents to dispose of extra refuse for a two week period. During this time,
residents can dispose of extra refuse without having to use City bags or stickers.
Remember- household refuse only; no yard waste or bulk items. Bags and containers
must weigh no more than 60 pounds. Refuse will be collected on residents? normal
collection day only. However, the normal collection schedule may be altered due
to the Christmas holiday. (see schedule below)
Reminder: Don?t throw away your corrugated cardboard boxes; they can be recycled at either of the City?s two drop off sites. Boxboard (giftboxes) can now be recylced at the DPW drop-off site.

2) Place it on the curb for collection on either Monday, Jan. 7 or Monday, Jan. 14, 2007.
Important Note: Remove trees from tree bags and remove all holiday decorations and tree stands and cut trees great than 6 feet in length in half.
