The City of East Lansing has turned 100... let the celebrations be remembered!The City of East Lansing celebrated its 100th birthday in 2007 with a year-long celebration. The year-long celebration included events such as the "human 100" photograph, home tour, birthday bash, a centennial-themed city council meeting and fireworks as well as a look back at our history through numerous historical programs. Centennial Sculpture DedicationIn honor of the Centennial, the East Lansing Arts Commission and the Art Selection Panel commissioned an award-winning artist, John Neering, to create a Centennial Sculpture for Valley Court Park, which is located in the western portion of the downtown district. The sculpture is on a new 8 foot circular base in Valley Court Park right behind Beaner's. Be sure to stop by and admire East Lansing's newest sculpture.
