Delayed Opening for City of East Lansing Offices on Monday, Dec. 12

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Due to the inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, several City of East Lansing offices will have delayed openings tomorrow, Dec. 12.

  • The East Lansing Hannah Community Center will be opening at 9 a.m.

  •  East Lansing City Hall and the East Lansing Department of Public Works (DPW) will be opening at 10 a.m.

  • The East Lansing Public Library and East Lansing 54B District Court will be opening at noon.

Community members are encouraged to drive safely tonight and tomorrow, allowing extra time to travel to their destinations. Limiting travel is encouraged, especially overnight.

East Lansing property owners are also reminded to keep the City’s snow and ice removal requirements in mind for sidewalks: www.cityofeastlansing.com/snowremoval.

DPW Snow Removal Update

East Lansing DPW crews have been working continuously to clear roads since 2 a.m. today and will continue to address high traffic routes and downtown sidewalks overnight. A larger crew will be coming in at 1 a.m. when the snow is expected to taper off to clear all major streets for the morning commute and begin working on local streets. Alley and cul-de-sac plows will be out in the morning.
