The Finance Department promotes sound policies & practices and facilitates the wise use of financial resources. We coordinate the budget process and prepare the annual budget document for presentation to the council and manage the annual audit and preparation of the comprehensive annual financial report. This department also acts as the Purchasing Agent for the City, processes biweekly payroll, performs risk management and maintains all liability insurance policies.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • FY2015 Budget Preparation - The City of East Lansing is in the process of preparing its Fiscal Year 2015 budget. City Council is expected to adopted the budget in May.
  • City Submits Economic Vitality Incentive Program (EVIP) Report - The City recently submitted the latest criteria for it's 2012 EVIP report to the State of Michigan. Criteria 2 required communities to document increased levels of cooperation, collaboration and consolidation within their jurisdiction or with other jurisdictions.
