Traffic Division

The 54-B District Court Traffic Division receives and processes municipal and traffic civil infractions (CI) and a number of traffic misdemeanors (MISD). This process usually begins by the issuance of a citation (or ticket) by a police or city code enforcement agency.

The person who receives the ticket is the defendant. An offense can be a civil infraction or misdemeanor depending on the seriousness of the offense. There can be up to three charges written on each citation. All defendants who receive a citation must respond to the allegations on the citation. In this court, you must answer the citation within 4-10 calendar days. Your options for answering the charges are listed on the back of your citation and are also included on this web site.
