EAST LANSING, Mich. — Crews with the East Lansing Department of Public Works (DPW) will repair a broken water main in the 1400-1500 block of Coolidge Road this Thursday, Feb. 9. The work will begin at 9 a.m. and should be completed in approximately two to eight hours, depending on the extent of the repairs. The road will be reduced from four to two lanes and motorists are asked to exercise caution in the area. Water will also be shut off in the area to accommodate the repair, causing a temporary disruption of water service to the Pebble Creek Townhouses off of Coolidge Road. Once turned back on, residents may notice a brown discoloration to their water caused by settlement in the pipes breaking loose during the repair work. This is a normal occurrence and the water remains safe to drink. Residents can run the water for a short period until it runs clear. The City appreciates the patience of community members during this scheduled repair work. Contact DPW at (517) 337-9459 with any questions.
