The East Lansing Public Library provides educational enrichment to its patrons through its offering of programs and other resources. In addition to books, magazines, newspapers, movies, music and audio books, the library offers access to more than 6.5 million off-site resources at neighboring Michigan libraries through interlibrary loan.

 

On an annual basis, the library also offers more than 400 free programs to patrons of all ages. Children, teens and adults will find fun activities, book groups, special story times, free computer classes and more at the library each week. Other features of the library include 40 public-use computers with high speed Internet access, free WIFI, several print and copy stations, used books at the FriendShop and more. 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Friends Win Award - The Friends of the East Lansing Public Library were awarded with the Keep Michigan Beautiful Distinguished Service Award on May 20, 2006 for their contributions to the beautification of Michigan.
  • Librarian Wins Award - Mary Hennessey, young adult librarian at the East Lansing Public Library, has received the Glen L. Taggart Award for Community Contribution to International Understanding.
