"Creating Community Through People Parks and Programs" - The Department of Parks, Recreation & Art's mission is to provide quality facilities and opportunities for leisure through active community participation and support.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • 2012 Winter Warm-Up and Blues' Community Challenge - The City is calling on residents to join in the 2012 Winter Warm-Up and Blues’ Community Challenge, a regional fitness competition pitting nine mid-Michigan communities against each other to compete for its share of $10,000 in grant funding. A trail map has been compiled to help find easy ways to find mileage.
  • Activity Guide (Winter/Spring 2012) - Take a look at the variety of arts, swim, dance, sports and fitness classes and programs offered through Parks, Recreation & Arts this winter/spring.
  • Pool Schedule (Winter/Spring 2012) - Download East Lansing Hannah Community Center's up-to-date pool schedule.
  • Inclement Weather Line - Call 333-2580 x49 for up-to-date information on program/event cancellations and building closures due to inclement weather.
  • Recreation Passport - To get our State of Michigan Recreation Passport, just check "YES" on your license plat renewal from. Your $10 gets you into all 98 state parks and recreation areas. Visit michigan.gov/recreationpassport.
  • Patriarche Play Structure Constructed with CCA-Treated Wood - The City is currently taking measures to address some newly discovered issues with the wooden play structure at Patriarche Park.
