Kids Eating Icecream Sandwiches

The one-week skill development clinic, open to boys and girls in grades 2-12, is conducted in conjunction with former MSU basketball star David Thomas, the East Lansing Basketball Club, the East Lansing High School basketball program and the City of East Lansing. It provides an youth an opportunity to strengthen their basketball skills with a coaching staff partly made up of former Michigan State University (MSU) basketball players - many of whom have gone on to play professionally.

 

June 9-13, 2014

East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road

8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (2nd - 6th grade)

1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. (7th-12th grade)

  • $135 if registered by May 31, 2013 (must be an East Lansing resident or enrolled in East Lansing Public Schools)
  • $150 if registered after June 1, 2013 (open to all)

 

About David Thomas
David Thomas, a member of MSU’s 2000 NCAA Championship Team and a resident of East Lansing, began the David Thomas Basketball Clinic as a way of giving back to the community he calls home. In addition to hosting the camp each year, Thomas makes an annual scholarship contribution to the MacDonald Middle School Interscholastic Basketball Program with the camp proceeds.

 

Camp Features

  • daily snack/beverage
  • daily instruction with emphasis on fundamentals, strategies and form
  • well-experienced staff with local coaches and athletes, as well as professional basketball players providing superb instruction
  • guest speakers
  • individual skill stations
  • team games
  • 5 to 1 ratio
