As a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement community, the City of East Lansing is required per federal guidelines to submit a Consolidated Plan document to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) every five years.
The Consolidated Plan is a detailed report, presenting HUD with information regarding demographic and socio-economic population information, as well as an assessment of strategic priorities for programming and projects the City intends to fund with CDBG dollars over the course of the next five years. Key funding areas include homelessness, anti-poverty prevention, housing and community development activities.
The Consolidated Plan is complete and is currently available for the public to review at the East Lansing Public Planning & Community Development Office. An online copy is also available

Community Feedback
East Lansing residents are strongly encouraged to review the Consolidated Plan and offer changes and/or suggestions. The public comment period begins on Sept. 6 and ends on Oct. 5, 2011. All written responses will be accepted during that time.
