Foot Care Clinic: Dr. Sehgal, DPM, FACFAS, a certified Podiatrist, comes to Prime Time on the third Friday of each month to provide care and counsel on the health of your feet. Blood Pressure Services: Have your blood pressure taken the first Wednesday each month from 10-11:30 a.m. by Judy Wood, R.N. If you need readings more often, stop by Prime Time on Monday, Wednesday or Friday to have Terri Cally take it for you. Gold Card Taxi Service: This program provides taxi fare assistance to seniors age 60+ and who live within the boundaries of East Lansing. It's just $10 to get a Gold Card, then you will pay just half your cab fare up to $20 per month! Prime time will pay the rest and request payment for any overages. The Gold Card works with Green Cab, Spartan Cab and Yellow Cab. Call (517) 337-1113 for more information. Chore Service: Do you need extra assistance with indoor or outdoor chores? Individuals requesting chore service will be asked to complete a one-page application. Chore service includes assistance with non-continuous home maintenance needs, including changing hard-to-reach light bulbs, garage cleaning, lawn mowing, snow removal, installing hand rails, taking down storm windows/screens, cleaning gutters and moving furniture.
Service is available for a maximum of 5 hours to seniors who are 60+ and who live within the city boundaries. Priority is given to those who are ill, homebound, recovering from surgery, etc. The cost is $15 per hour. For income below $36,350 annually for single person households, or $41,500 annually for two-person households, the cost is $7.50 per hour.
Tax Help: An AARP representative provides free tax service to seniors and low-income individuals at Prime Time each tax season. Appointments are available on Fridays from mid-February through the season between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Call (517) 337-1113 to make an appointment. Grief and Loss Support Group: If you're experiencing the loss of a loved one, we have individuals (both men and women) who have been trained in grief and loss support, and who have also experienced this difficult journey themselves.
