Drop-Off Recycling Locations

Residents can recycle 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the following drop-off locations [map of drop-off locations] [directions to drop-off locations]

1) Items Collected at Department of Public Works include:

1800 East State Road (1.5 miles north of the Coolidge-Lake Lansing intersection)

  • #1 plastic - #7 plastics (bottles, cups & tubs)
  • aerosol cans
  • batteries (rechargeable only) [details]
  • brown paper bags
  • boxboard
  • cell phones
  • corrugated cardboard
  • fishing line
  • glass bottles/jars (clear, brown)
  • magazines
  • mixed papers (junk mail, office paper, etc.)
  • newspaper
  • phone books
  • tin/steel cans, aluminum
  • CFL bulbs (DPW office only)

2) Items Collected at East Lansing Public Schools Administration Building include:
841 Timberlane St. (off of Burcham Drive between Hagadorn and Park Lake roads)

  • #1 plastic - #7 plastics (bottles, cups & tubs)
  • aluminum cans / foil
  • boxboard
  • corrugated cardboard
  • magazines
  • mixed papers (junk mail, office paper, ect.)
  • newspaper
  • phone books
  • tin cans

3) Items Collected at Patriarche Park include:
CLOSED FOR SEASON (opens October 2012- Spring 2013)

Alton Road between Saginaw Highway and Burcham Drive

  • boxboard (closed for season)
  • corrugated cardboard (closed for season)
