Woven Art is a unique and inviting yarn shop and fiber art gallery in downtown East Lansing, at the doorstep of Michigan State University. Our specialty is artisan yarns. We have our own line of hand-dyed and hand-painted yarns. We also carry handspun yarns, and yarns from small mills. Our large selection also includes yarns that are made from sustainable and environmentally friendly fibers, and yarns supported with great patterns and designs. We got into this business because of a life long love of all things stringy, and an equal passion for sharing this love. We offer classes and workshops in knitting, crochet, weaving, dyeing, spinning and more. In addition to our own talented teaching staff, we bring in well-known instructors from both near and far. The Gallery at Woven Art features regularly changing exhibits of FiberArt. Tapestry, Art Quilts, Wall hangings and Felt Sculpture have been shown, as well as apparel, including costumes and fashion. There is usually an artist reception at Woven Art during Lansing's First Sunday Gallery Walk. Woven Art is a good place to get ideas for your next project, buy the best and most unusual yarn, and see exhibits of inspired and inspiring fiber art.
