The Aquatic Center, an interactive outdoor water facility, will be open daily for its regular 2012 season this Friday, June 1.

The Prime Time Seniors’ Program will celebrate its 40th anniversary in conjunction with National Older Americans Month this May. To commemorate this special month, Prime Time will highlight one active senior a day through a unique intergenerational project.

The East Lansing Police Department and East Lansing Fire Department will be co-hosting a basic Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course with the City of Lansing this June.

City Manager George Lahanas will be attending a number of community meetings to discuss the City's financial challenges over the next two fiscal years, including two upcoming public meetings on Monday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the E.L. Hannah Community Center.

City Council approved the Fiscal Year 2012-2013 budget on Tuesday, May 15, including the levy of 1.0 mill to support the East Lansing Public Library. Council also approved a resolution to place an additional 1.0 mill  for the library on the November election ballot.
