East Lansing Hannah Community Center to Celebrate 10th Anniversary TODAY

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Hannah Community Center (ELHCC), 819 Abbot Road, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Wednesday, Feb. 1.

In celebration of its decade of service to the community, the ELHCC will host a cake-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. and will be offering 10 percent off fitness passes and class registrations throughout the day. Tours of the building will also be given.

“We are pleased to be celebrating this milestone and encourage our patrons to come out and enjoy the facility in honor of our 10 years,” said East Lansing Parks, Recreation & Arts Assistant Director Wendy Wilmers Longpre. “We also encourage new patrons to visit us on Feb. 1, to learn more about the programming and services we offer.”

The ELHCC opened its doors to the East Lansing community in 2002. The facility offers the charm of a 1920’s building combined with modern amenities, including a 483-seat performing arts theater, 25-yard heated pool, gymnasiums, a fitness center and meeting/event space. The building also houses the Prime Time Seniors’ Program and the All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre. Prior to its renovation, the building was Hannah Middle School and, prior to that, it was East Lansing High School.
