East Lansing Art Festival Receives National Ranking

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Art Festival recently received a national ranking in Art Fair SourceBook’s Top 200 for its fine art and craft sales in 2009.

With its 117th fine art ranking and 153rd fine craft ranking, the festival was included among a list of the top 200 best-selling art fairs and festivals in the country. These rankings are based on the festival’s gross average sales for 2009, which totaled $2,857 per artist exhibitor.

“This national ranking is a direct result of the quality of artists exhibitors juried into the festival last year and the tremendous support and patronage of our local, regional and national attendees,” said East Lansing Art Festival Coordinator Corinn VanWyck. “We are pleased to be counted among some of the top art festivals in the country and plan to bring the same kind of high-caliber artist showcase to the community again this May.”

The East Lansing Art Festival, established in 1964, brings more than 200 artist exhibitors from across the continent and an estimated 80,000 attendees to downtown East Lansing each year. The festival, a rite of spring in the Greater Lansing region, is annually held on the weekend prior to the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

The 2010 East Lansing Art Festival will take place Saturday, May 22 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, May 23 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Those interested in becoming a sponsor of the 2010 East Lansing Art Festival can e-mail Visit to learn more.
