All-of-us Express Children's Theatre (AECT) offers youth the opportunity to take part in every aspect of theatre production from acting, technical production and costume design to set construction. AECT brings four major productions to the Greater Lansing community each year with the help of hundreds of youth from throughout the region. Download the season brochure (PDF) to learn more.

Young Playwright's Festival

The 1st Annual Young Playwright’s Festival will feature submissions from youth playwrights. In “The Journeys of Miss Pepper,” by 11-year-old Abby Murray, title character Pepper goes looking for her father and encounters both friends and foes on the journey. “The Fairy Tale Book,” by 12-year-old Ava Brewer, takes place in a land of make believe, where Alice, Peter Pan and Cinderella implore Daisy to be the next caretaker of the fairy tale world. And the final of the three tales, “Our Binding Flaws,” by 12-year-old Audrey Tieman, opens on Evelyn, a grieving widow, who speaks with Love, Life and Death to come to terms with her loss. Evelyn’s friend, James, and manifestations of her husband, Charles, assist in her recovery. Learn more.

The Pied Piper of Hamelin takes place in medieval times in the city of Hamelin, somewhere in the area of what is now Germany. The town has a problem with rats, which the Mayor and the Town Council are doing their best to ignore. Auditions will be held May 14-16, for youth, ages 6-18.
