East Lansing Condos
The Planning, Building & Development Department is responsible for community and economic development, planning and zoning and historic preservation. The department also administers the downtown parking system and property inspections.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Single-Family Residential Dwellings with Non-Conforming Uses - A facilitated steering committee meeting with landlords and residents regarding single-family residential dwellings with non-conforming uses. The following reports were drafted by facilitator Doak Bloss; Report on Session 1 and Changes to Recommendations.
  • Development Review Process - The City has compiled relevant information for applicants seeking to develop in East Lansing, including Comprehensive Plan and code information, forms and applications, steps, procedures and much more.
  • Comprehensive Plan Update - Community members are encouraged to participate in the Comprehensive Plan update, which started in September and takes place over 18 months. The plan update, which will be referred to as the Bigger Picture, is an important working document that projects land use planning 20 years into the future.
  • Link to Economic Development - Learn about economic development in East Lansing with interactive GIS mapping, a new property locator and site selection features.
