East Lansing Mayor Ruth Beier Extends Local State of Emergency, Some Changes Made to City's Closures, Cancellations and Services
In light of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s new “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order, East Lansing Mayor Ruth Beier has extended her local state of emergency declaration through Monday, April 13 at 11:59 p.m. and adjustments have been made to the City of East Lansing’s facility closures, event/program cancellations and services.

LEAP to Administer Grants to Small Businesses in the Tri-County Region Impacted by COVID-19
The Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), through a partnership with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), is administering 60 $10,000 working capital grants to Michigan-owned small businesses in the tri-county region, including East Lansing businesses. The application is now available and the deadline to submit is March 31, 2020.

Census 2020 - Be Counted, East Lansing!
In 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau will be conducting its decennial census. Anyone who lives in East Lansing the majority of the year (six months or more) should be counted here. This includes most MSU students, even if they have temporarily relocated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

East Lansing Temporarily Closes Playground Equipment, Some Park Amenities
To help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), City of East Lansing officials are temporarily closing the City’s playground equipment and some park amenities until further notice.

East Lansing City Manager Provides Requested Report to East Lansing City Council
East Lansing City Manager George Lahanas provided a requested report to the East Lansing City Council regarding the sale of 6.4 acres of land located at the intersection of Merritt and Lake Lansing roads in the City of East Lansing.
