Erik served on the City Council previously, from 2015 to 2019, and before that on the Planning Commission. He teaches Psychology at Michigan State University and lives in the Bailey neighborhood with his wife Kathy, an attorney, and their cats Max and Min. In his spare time he likes to walk the excellent trails in the Lansing area.
