Ice Skating Rink

East Lansing's pop-up ice skating rink has made its return to Valley Court Park, 280 Valley Court. The rink will be open Feb. 8-28, weather permitting (see daily rink updates below).

Hours of Operation

The rink is free and open to the public. Skate hours are from noon-9 p.m. Updates will be posted on this webpage daily indicating whether the rink will be open or closed for the day due to weather (see daily rink updates below).

About the Rink

The 52x72-foot rink accommodates approximately 30 skaters at one time. Daily operations of the rink are managed by staff members with the East Lansing Department of Planning, Building & Development. Community members will need to bring their own skates to rink.

Rink Rules

  • Skate at your own risk.
  • No food or beverage is allowed on the ice skating rink.
  • No person is permitted on the ice without skates.
  • Children under 12 years of age require adult supervision.
  • Recreational skating only.
  • No hockey, curling or other activities allowed.
  • In case of an emergency, call 911.
All community members using the ice skating rink do so at their own risk. The City of East Lansing is not responsible for any accidents or injuries. The City of East Lansing is also not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged personal property.
