Be a Tourist in Your Own Town

UPDATE (6/1/19 at 2:45 p.m.): The Be A Tourist In Your Town activities in downtown East Lansing's Ann Street Plaza have been canceled for the remainder of the day due to weather. 

The Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau's 2019 Be a Tourist in Your Own Town (BATYOT) event will take place Saturday, June 1.

The event offers participants with the opportunity to visit more than 100 local attractions and enjoy one-day only special tours throughout the region with the purchase of a $1 passport. It's a great way for community members to get out and enjoy all that the region has to offer!

Activities in Downtown East Lansing


As part of the BATYOT event, there will be a number of fun, FREE activities going on in downtown East Lansing's Ann Street Plaza (corner of Albert & M.A.C. avenues) from 12-4 p.m.:

  • FREE caricaturist drawings
  • FREE face painting
  • FREE photo booth
  • FREE, live music (1-4 p.m.)
