Northern Tier Trail Improvements

The East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation & Arts has been awarded $1,526,089 from the Ingham County Trails and Parks Millage to repair/replace six pedestrian bridges and make surface improvements along the Northern Tier Trail. 

The bridge work is slated to begin in January 2018 and the trail resurfacing is slated to begin in spring 2018. During the work, there will be intermittent closures along the trail.

Repairs to the bridge on the Abbey Road branch of the trail March 16-April 16
Repairs to the bridge east of Harrison Meadows Park April 17-May 17
Resurfacing of the Northern Tier Trail* April 16-June 15
Repairs to the bridge along the north side of Kalamazoo Street May 18-June 15
Repairs to the bridge along the west side of Hagadorn Road June 1-July 26
Project Completion Fall 2018
*A phased plan for trail resurfacing will be available closer to the date of construction.
