Age-Friendly Community Committee

The Age-Friendly Community Committee was formed to continue the City of East Lansing's work to achieve an Age-Friendly Community designation, as recognized by the World Health Organization. The committee, along with several subcommittees, meet regularly to assess, plan and implement the process for becoming the fifth city in Michigan to achieve this designation. Currently, the Age Friendly Communities team is finalizing the 2020 Action Plan document which identifies goals and objectives for eight identified domains of livability. The eight areas of focus include:

  1. Housing
  2. Transportation
  3. Communications/Information
  4. Social Participation
  5. Respect and Social Inclusion
