Community Development

The Community Development Division administers a number of grants to non-profit community programs that provide services to income-qualified residents that meet the HUD Income Qualifications. Examples of services are child care, domestic abuse support and counseling, elderly care, homeless assistance, legal services, literacy programming and mentor programs. It also offers financial assistance to income-qualified persons looking to purchase a home or making rehabilitation improvements.

City of East Lansing Now Accepting Applications for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Grant Programs

Applications are now  available for funding under the City of East Lansing’s FY 2018-2019 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, Human Service Program, and Mini Grant Program. Funding will be provided to agencies providing services to income eligible East Lansing residents between July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019.
