Jury Tips

A number of tips and answers to frequent questions have been compiled:

  • There may be frequent breaks during the actual selection of jurors and delays during a trial. These delays are often unavoidable.
  • It is recommended that you bring something with you that you can do quietly while waiting, such as a book or crossword puzzle.
  • You may bring a laptops, pagers and/or cell phones, but these items must be turned off while in the courtroom and during deliberations.
  • Beverages are allowed in the courtroom. Pop machines are available in the building.
  • If you are selected for a jury, coffee will be provided in the jury room.
  • Jurors are usually given a lunch break and are free to leave the building. Food may be provided during deliberations but you are free to bring your own food, especially if you are a diabetic or on a special diet.
