East Lansing Mayor Ruth Beier Extends Local State of Emergency, Some Changes Made to City's Closures, Cancellations and Services
In light of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s new “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order, East Lansing Mayor Ruth Beier has extended her local state of emergency declaration through Monday, April 13 at 11:59 p.m. and adjustments have been made to the City of East Lansing’s facility closures, event/program cancellations and services.

East Lansing Temporarily Closes Playground Equipment, Some Park Amenities
To help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), City of East Lansing officials are temporarily closing the City’s playground equipment and some park amenities until further notice.

Tri-County Regional Planning Commission Develops Online Parks and Trail Viewer
Community members looking to get outside and exercise can find several parks and trails in the area by viewing the Tri-County Planning Commission's online parks and trail viewer. When using the parks and trails, community members are encouraged to practice safe social distancing and stay at least six feet away from others.

Upcoming Volunteer Park Work Days
Get involved in the restoration of the City's park biotic communities by removing problematic plant species and replacing them with native species. The volunteer work days take place the second Saturday of each month.
