Community members are encouraged to mark their calendars for the East Lansing Art Festival (ELAF), which will be taking place May 21-22 in downtown East Lansing. Festival hours will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 22. This year’s festival will feature approximately 180 to 200 artists and emerging artists from across the United States and Canada as well as live musical performances, food trucks and an artist demonstration area. The artist demonstration area will include several hands-on arts activities for community members of all ages to enjoy as well as pottery demonstrations and poetry readings from the ELAF’s annual Poetry Journal. New this year, there will also be a larger-than-life floral installation by Sparrow Bloom Co. onsite at the festival and Haptix Studio will be bringing a 3D digital art demonstration to the festival site, which will be created by area students using Tilt Brush technology.
