There are three convenient options for disposing of yard waste each fall in the City of East Lansing: regular yard waste collection, no-fee yard waste collection and fall bulk leaf collection.
This fall, regular yard waste collection will be offered on Mondays through Nov. 16 (excluding holidays). Advanced requests and City yard waste stickers/bags are required.
Residents should note that both no-fee yard waste collection and fall bulk leaf collection will be split between the east and west sides of the City this fall. The west side includes the west City limits at Coolidge and West roads to Abbot Road. The east side includes the east City limits at Park Lake Road to Abbot Road.
No-fee yard waste collection will be offered on the east side of the City on Oct. 5 and Oct. 19, and will be offered on the west side of the City on Oct. 12 and Oct. 26. Advanced requests and City yard waste stickers/bags are not required, but all other yard waste guidelines do apply.
Fall bulk leaf collection dates for the east side are Oct. 12, Oct. 26 and Nov. 9. Fall bulk leaf collection dates for the west side are Oct. 19, Nov. 2 and Nov. 16. Rake loose yard waste (excluding brush/limbs) to the curb by 7:30 a.m. on the Mondays of collection weeks for free collection.
