[ARCHIVED] All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre Announces 27th Season: Forever Young

EAST LANSING, Mich. — At a special event on March 24, All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre (AECT) announced its 27th Season show lineup.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Up first, AECT will bring “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” to the East Lansing Hannah Community Center (ELHCC) stage this fall. The production will be directed by AECT Board Member and Alumna Liz Parker. Auditions for interested 9- to 18-year-olds will take place August 27-29. The show itself will be on stage at ELHCC Nov. 6-7 and Nov. 13-14, with a special group show on Nov. 13.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
The winter show will feature the winter wonderland of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” directed by AECT Board President and Alumna Morgan Lees. The show is set to be on stage at ELHCC February 5-6 and Feb. 12-13, with a special group show on Feb. 12.

The Great Gatsby & Thumbelina
In spring 2016, AECT will bring two shows to the stage: “The Great Gatsby,” directed by AECT Artistic Director and Alumna Sarah Willis; and “Thumbelina,” directed by AECT Board Member and Alumna Amelia Rogocka. This show will be on stage at Riverwalk Theatre April 22-24 and April 29-May 1, with a special group show on April 29.

2nd Annual Young Playwright’s Festival
The 2nd Annual Young Playwright’s Festival will be accepting short play submissions from playwrights, ages 11-18, through January 4, 2016. Several of them will be selected to be performed on stage at ELHCC May 27-29.

Peter Pan
The summer 2016 show will be “Peter Pan,” directed by guest director Susan Stroupe. “Peter Pan” will fly onto the stage at ELHCC July 29-30 and August 5-6, with a special group show on Aug. 5.

All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre (AECT) offers young people of all backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles the opportunity to produce professional quality plays, study many aspects of the dramatic arts and develop valuable life skills while providing outstanding entertainment to the community. AECT brings four major productions to the Greater Lansing community each year with the help of hundreds of youth from throughout the region.
