EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are advised of the following updates regarding the City of East Lansing’s existing facility closures.

Once re-opening is permitted, East Lansing Parks, Recreation & Arts staff plan to initiate a safe, responsible and phased re-opening of the building within approximately one to three weeks. The East Lansing Prime Time Seniors’ Program is expected to re-open when ELHCC re-opens.
- At this time, the East Lansing Public Library is tentatively expected to re-open in a limited capacity on Monday, July 27. Services and hours will be limited, and masks will be required. (UPDATE 7/16/20: The ELPL Board of Trustees decided at their July 15 meeting to push back the library’s re-opening to Monday, Aug. 17. )

(UPDATE 7/31/20: DPW will re-open to the public on Monday, Aug. 3. Building/phone hours will be 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The DPW recycling drop-off site has also re-opened to the public; however, DPW is currently not accepting batteries and light bulbs inside of the building.)

The building will continue to be closed on Fridays through July 24 to accommodate reduced work hours for staff members enrolled in the Unemployment Insurance Agency’s Work Share Program. Visitors must wear a mask and follow all directional signs for appropriate physical distancing.
