Community Members, Media Invited to Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Bailey Park Improvements

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion of the Bailey Park Improvement Project on Friday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. Bailey Park is located at 300 Bailey Street.

The Bailey Park Improvement Project was funded by a $219,000 Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant, a $69,400 Community Development Block Grant, $25,000 from the Capital Area Housing Partnership and $18,967 raised by the Bailey Community Association.

The improvements included the installation of a community plaza, 10-foot concrete pathway loop around the park, a shade structure and a new play structure. Two gardens that feature native, pollinator friendly landscaping as well as various park furnishings, including picnic tables, benches and signage, have also been installed.

Community members and members of the local media are welcome to attend. Attendance at the ceremony is limited to 25 people or fewer in compliance with Ingham County Health Department Emergency Order 2020-15. Masks and physical distancing will be required.
