[ARCHIVED] Drain Maintenance to Cause Intermittent Closures on Northern Tier Trail

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Ingham County Drain Commissioner's Office will be performing drain maintenance along the Smedley-Coolidge and Sanderson Drains within the City of East Lansing over the next few weeks.

The work will include small tree and brush removal as well as excavation work within the ditch banks to remove accumulated sediment.

Some of the work along the Sanderson Drain is adjacent to the Northern Tier Trail between the East Lansing Soccer Complex and Harrison Meadows Park. View map (PDF). Portions of this area of the trail will be closed intermittently as the work proceeds in order to safeguard the public from equipment and debris.

Trail users are asked to watch for signs and staff who may be directing them around the work area.

Contact Randy Abbott from the Ingham County Drain Commissioner's Office at (517) 719-4914 for additional information.
