EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing continues its popular Summer Concert Series in downtown East Lansing this weekend with the Swift Brothers and Taylor Taylor.
The Summer Concert Series, featuring six weekends of live music, takes place on Fridays and Saturdays from 7-9 p.m. in Ann Street Plaza through Aug. 1. The concerts will be canceled in the event of rain. Bring a lawn chair and dancing shoes!
Ann Street Plaza is located on the corner of Albert and M.A.C. avenues. The plaza is home to a large pedestrian-friendly area, a permanent covered stage, an outdoor fireplace and other amenities. Enjoy outdoor dining at surrounding restaurants. Bring a lawn chair and dancing shoes!
Friday, July 10: Swift Brothers
The Swift Brothers is made up of Dan Laird and Mark Collins. With a variety of instruments and equipment from guitars and banjos to foot percussion and digital effect pedals, the folk duo fuses popular sounds with their own unique sound. If you like Mumford & Sons or The Lumineers, you will love the Swift Brothers.
Saturday, July 11: Taylor Taylor
Taylor Taylor is an 18-year-old Lansing native with African American and Colombian roots. She has been cultivating her jazzy-pop style with classical guitar skills, charismatic vocals and lyrical songwriting. Performances include originals and covers from yesterday and today.
The 2015 lineup also includes: Kathleen & the Bridge Street Band (Friday, July 17), May Erlewine (Saturday, July 18), Dragspel feat. Mike Lynch & Rob Klajda (Friday, July 24), Deacon Earl & The Congregation (Saturday, July 25), Cuatro Sur (Friday, July 31) and Greg Nagy (Saturday, Aug. 1).
