East Lansing City Council Special Meeting to be Held Jan. 14 for Council Candidate Interviews

pressrelease

EAST LANSING, Mich. — A special meeting of the East Lansing City Council will take place this Saturday, Jan. 14 to conduct applicant interviews for the current vacancy on City Council.

The special meeting will take place at 9 a.m. in the Executive Conference Room (second floor) at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road. Council has selected five applicants to interview at the special meeting. They include Dr. Nichole Biber, Daniel Bollman, Noel Garcia, Jr., Mikey Manuel and Abigail Tykocki.

This special meeting is open to the public and there will be an opportunity after the interviews and Council’s deliberation for public comment. View the special meeting agenda (PDF).

The current Council vacancy is the result of former Councilmember Lisa Babcock’s resignation from Council to serve as the newly elected judge for the East Lansing 54B District Court. Judge Babcock's resignation was submitted to the East Lansing City Clerk’s Office on Dec. 28, and, per the City Charter, the resulting Council vacancy must be filled within 30 days from that resignation date.
