EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are invited to attend the ceremonial ringing of the “market bell” to open the 2023 East Lansing Farmers Market season with East Lansing Mayor Ron Bacon this Sunday, June 3 at 10 a.m.
The East Lansing Farmers Market (ELFM) is held in Valley Court Park, 280 Valley Court, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each Sunday through Oct. 29. The market draws a crowd of more than 1,000 visitors each week to shop for farm-grown Michigan produce and products. The location of the ELFM is a green space steps away from downtown East Lansing, the campus of Michigan State University and several East Lansing neighborhoods.
The first 100 customers on opening day will receive a reusable market tote. Live music will include Ryan Shadbolt from 10-11:50 a.m. and Coffee at Midnight from 12:10-2 p.m. The East Lansing Public Library’s (ELPL) Library on the Go mobile pop-up library will also be onsite during the opening day festivities. The opening day sponsor is Renewal by Andersen.
