EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing-Meridian Water and Sewer Authority (ELMWSA) was honored to compete for the prize of best-tasting water in the state of Michigan at the Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association’s Annual Conference in Port Huron on Sept. 13.
ELMWSA, which serves the residents of East Lansing and Meridian Township with their drinking water supply, had won the 2023 American Water Works Association’s Mount Pleasant Regional Water Taste-off Competition earlier this year.
For the competition, water samples from all over the state of Michigan were judged on taste, smell and water clarity. The final competition scoring was very close, with ELMWSA finishing third in the taste-off. Marquette Township was named as the community with the best tasting water in Michigan for 2023.
ELMWSA staff are excited to compete in next year’s competition and they hope to then be crowned as the winners of the best tasting water in Michigan.
