City Offices to be Closed Friday, Nov. 10 in Observance of Veterans Day

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Community members are advised that City of East Lansing offices will be closed Friday, Nov. 10 in observance of Veterans Day. This does not include the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road, which will be open during regular business hours on Friday, Nov. 10. 

City offices closed for Veterans Day include the following: 

  • East Lansing City Hall, 410 Abbot Road
  • East Lansing 54B District Court, 101 Linden St.
  • East Lansing Public Library, 950 Abbot Road
  • East Lansing Prime Time, 819 Abbot Road
  • East Lansing Department of Public Works (DPW), 1800 E. State Road

Trash and recycling collection normally scheduled on a Friday will instead take place on Monday, Nov. 13. Additionally, there will be no bulky item collection or yard waste pickup on Monday, Nov. 13. The next date for both bulky item collection and yard waste pickup will be Monday, Nov. 20. Download the Recycle Coach app from the App Store or Google Play to receive timely notifications about collections from DPW.

Wreath-Laying Ceremony Honoring Veterans TODAY

In honor of Veterans Day, community members and members of the media are invited to attend a wreath-laying ceremony at East Lansing’s Medal of Honor Memorial and Veterans Monument located on the main entry grounds of the ELHCC, 819 Abbot Road today (Wednesday, Nov. 8) at 11 a.m.
