EAST LANSING, Mich. — Mikael Alexandre Frutin, a 26-year-old accused of six counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct, was arraigned in 54B District Court today. He was denied bond because it was determined that he was a flight risk. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 16.
ELPD began its investigation into this CSC case back in July 2014. Frutin was accused in July 2014 of having an illegal sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl. Frutin was the victim’s gymnastics instructor at Red Cedar Gymnastics in Delhi Township; however, none of the alleged crimes happened at Red Cedar Gymnastics.
Frutin became aware of ELPD’s investigation and fled the state. ELPD, along with the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team, worked with the U.S. Marshals Service to track down Frutin. The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Frutin in Los Angeles Calif. on September 4, 2015.
