EAST LANSING, Mich. — The City of East Lansing invites all members of the public to attend three Consolidated Plan Workshops this November.
The workshops are being held to identify the housing, economic development, infrastructure, recreation and public service needs within the City of East Lansing. Feedback and information gathered during these meetings will be incorporated into the 2016-2020 Consolidated Plan document.
The Consolidated Plan document serves as a strategic outline of how the City of East Lansing intends to spend the annual entitlement funds that it receives through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Every five years, the City of East Lansing must submit a Consolidated Plan document to the Department of Housing and Urban Development in order to remain eligible to receive CDBG funds.
The Consolidated Plan Workshops will be moderated by staff from the Anderson Economic Group. City staff members will also be present to help answer any questions regarding past funding levels.
The dates and times of the Consolidated Plan Workshops are: Monday, Nov. 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the East Lansing Public Library, 950 Abbot Road; Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Rd; and Thursday, Nov. 12 from 4-6 p.m. at East Lansing City Hall, 410 Abbot Road.
All interested citizens and employees of public agencies, including residents with low to moderate income and special needs, are encouraged to participate.
