EAST LANSING, Mich. – The City of East Lansing will once again be offering free parking in downtown East Lansing on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24; Christmas Day, Dec. 25; and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1.
During the Christmas holiday, free parking will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24 and end at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26. During the New Year’s holiday, free parking will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1 and end at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2. Free parking will be available at all parking garages, surface lots and street meters in the downtown.
“We hope that downtown East Lansing patrons will take advantage of the free parking when doing their last-minute shopping on Christmas Eve,” said East Lansing Downtown Management Board Coordinator Juliann Otto. “With an eclectic mix of more than 185 businesses, downtown East Lansing is the perfect destination for shopping and dining local during the holidays and throughout 2016.”
In addition to the free parking over the holidays, community members are reminded that parking is always free on Sundays in downtown East Lansing.
