[ARCHIVED] City of East Lansing Holiday Closures & Collections

EAST LANSING, Mich. — A number of City of East Lansing offices will be closed in observance of the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

East Lansing City Hall and the East Lansing Department of Public Works will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. Refuse and recycling collection will take place on Thursday, Dec. 24. Refuse and recycling collection will not take place on Friday, Dec. 25. Friday’s refuse and recycling will be collected Monday, Dec. 28 along with the regular Monday collection. Refuse and recycling collection will not take place on Friday, Jan. 1. Friday’s refuse and recycling will be collected Monday, Jan. 4 along with the regular Monday collection.

The East Lansing 54-B District Court will be closed Dec. 24-25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

The East Lansing Hannah Community Center will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1; and will have the following modified hours: 6 a.m.-5 p.m. on Dec. 23, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Dec. 26, 6 a.m.-5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Jan. 2.

The Prime Time Seniors’ Program will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 1. The office will re-open on Monday, Jan. 4.

Community members are reminded that the East Lansing Public Library will remain closed to the public through Jan. 10 for renovation preparation. When the library re-opens on Jan. 11, approximately one-third of the floor space and collection will be accessible to patrons and the first phase of the renovation project will be underway.
