EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing 54B District Court has added a third online platform with Court Innovations Matterhorn for online review of parking tickets.
Through this new program, individuals who receive a parking ticket in East Lansing can have it reviewed online as long as the ticket has not reached default status. Everyone is eligible if the request is made within 14 days of receiving the parking ticket. Eligible individuals can request a review and provide their input – all online.
54B District Court Judge Andrea Andrews Larkin is pleased the court can offer this customer service aspect to the public.
“The defendant does not have to request a hearing, wait for a court date and take time off from work or school,” said Judge Larkin. “The program is voluntary and defendants can still request a hearing or submit a written admission with explanation, as allowed by law. This does not eliminate the right of a person to have a hearing in front of a judge.”
In addition to this new program, the court also recently added online review options for traffic tickets and warrants for failure to pay. Visit www.54BDistrictCourt.com to access all three online review options.
