EAST LANSING, Mich. – Construction work associated with Michigan State University’s 1855 Place redevelopment project will cause temporary lane closures on Harrison Road next week.
A temporary crosswalk will be constructed immediately north of the Breslin Student Events Center drive entrance to Parking Lot 63W off of Harrison Road. The work will take place March 7-8 and will require the inside lanes for both northbound and southbound Harrison Road traffic to be closed immediately north and south of the Breslin Center drive entrance. The crosswalk will allow pedestrians to cross Harrison Road to and from the newly constructed 1855 Place parking garage, which is scheduled to open to the public in April prior to spring commencement ceremonies.
A sewer repair is also scheduled for the Harrison-Kalamazoo intersection next week, which will cause a northbound outside lane of Harrison Road to be closed south of Kalamazoo Street for truck staging. The closure will be in place March 7-11.
Traffic will be maintained in either direction during the temporary lane closures; however, community members may want to seek alternate routes. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when driving through the area.
