[ARCHIVED] Free Overnight Parking Offered at Specific Downtown East Lansing Locations on Saint Patrick’s Day

EAST LANSING, Mich. – In an effort to encourage safe rides home on Saint Patrick’s Day, the City of East Lansing’s Parking Division has partnered with the East Lansing Downtown Management Board (DMB) to provide free overnight parking in specific locations in downtown East Lansing.

Free parking will be available at four locations in the downtown beginning Thursday, March 17 at 10 p.m. through Friday, March 18 at noon. The locations include:

- Evergreen Avenue Parking Lot, 275 Evergreen Ave. (behind Peoples Church)
Meters Only; Entrance on Evergreen Avenue

- Dublin Square Lot, 311 Albert Ave.
Entrance on Albert Avenue

- East Lansing City Hall’s West Lot, 415 Abbot Road
Entrance on west side of Abbot Road

- Bailey Street Parking Garage, 126 Bailey St.
Entrance on east side of Bailey Street, between Grand River Avenue and Albert Avenue

“We encourage those who are celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day in downtown East Lansing to celebrate responsibly and find a safe ride home,” said East Lansing DMB Coordinator Amy Schlusler.

Individuals can also pay to park overnight in any of the other attended garages/lots in the downtown (from 3-8 a.m. rates are not applied). Pay later vouchers will be left on vehicles parked in attended garages/lots overnight.
